Insurance Verification Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Authorizations
REPORTS TO: Prior Authorization Manager
Job Summary: This individual is responsible for obtaining prior approvals for all surgeries, calling insurances to obtain benefits and eligibility, calling patients, and inputting insurance information into the correct places.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contacts insurance companies requesting policy and coverage limits, deductible amounts, and any pre-existing clauses on all surgeries or when coverage is in question.
Verifies insurance eligibility
Fill out authorization forms
Organize surgery verifications
Inform patient of coverage and amounts due
Fax paperwork to insurance companies
Print schedules
Print verification forms
Completing tasks in a timely manner
Use of insurance portals
Inputting verification information into correct areas
Performs other duties as required.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years minimum experience in medical office, insurance experience preferred.
