Front Office Receptionist
Department: Front Office
Reports To: Front Office Supervisor
Job Summary: This individual is responsible for answering the telephone in a courteous and professional manner, directing calls to appropriate personnel, scheduling appointments, sending recalls, and making appointment reminder calls.
Travel: Travel will be required for training purposes. Travel may include either to Alamogordo or Ruidoso approximately three days a week. Once trained fully or full-time provider starts travel will decrease to an as needed basis. A company vehicle will be utilized for transportation to and from the designated location and staff do get compensated for their travel time.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greets and orients patients as they arrive for their appointments.
- Schedules, reschedules, and cancels appointments as necessary.
- Files reports and charts.
- Updates patient recalls as necessary.
- Promptly and efficiently types patient labels, charts, miscellaneous correspondence, etc.
- Maintains organized patient files.
- Assists patients as they check out, i.e., next appointment, completes super bill, accepts payment, etc.
- Telephone and Greeting
- Answers telephone calls promptly (two rings).
- Addresses the caller’s concern.
- Directs all calls to appropriate personnel.
- Identifies emergency calls and schedules appropriately.
- Performs all front desk duties between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. daily.
- Consistent Patient Follow-Up
- Keeps an active cancellation list and uses as necessary.
- Confirms all appointments.
- Financial Responsibilities
- Obtains proper insurance information.
- Monitors the postage meter and enters postage when needed.
- Provides fee schedules and insurance information to patients.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years experience in customer service preferred
