Job Summary:
As a warehouse technician for Filmwerks you will be responsible for fulfilling and maintaining warehouse operations with a primary focus on pulling and packing gear, loading trucks, managing inventory in compliance with the ERP system, accurately fulfilling orders and maintaining warehouse organization in a fast-paced environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Pulling and packing gear:
- Retrieve items from designated locations within the warehouse based on pick lists or customer orders.
- Ensure accuracy in item selection and packing to minimize errors and optimize order fulfillment.
- Working within the ERP system during the pulling and packing process.
- Input data accurately and in a timely manner to ensure real-time visibility of inventory levels and order statuses.
Loading trucks:
- Safely load products onto delivery trucks or shipping containers according to loading schedules and shipping requirements.
- Utilize proper loading techniques to maximize space utilization and prevent damage to goods during transit.
ERP System utilization:
- Proficiently navigate and utilize the ERP system to access order information, update inventory records and generate shipping documents.
- Input data accurately and in a timely manner to ensure real-time visibility of inventory levels and order statuses.
- Accurately using hand scanners in compliance with the ERP system.
Inventory Management
- Conduct regular inventory counts to reconcile physical stock levels with ERP system records.
- Assist in identifying discrepancies and investigating root causes to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Maintaining and organizing the warehouse.
Quality control:
- Inspect products for quality and ensure that they meet specified standards before packing and shipping.
- Report any quality issues or discrepancies with gear or within the ERP system to the appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Ability to remember tasks and transactions that you or your workers have completed and accurately convey them to the correct personnel.
Safety and compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Comply with company policies and regulatory requirements related to warehouse operations and product handling.
- Willingness to get certified in forklift operations and other heavy equipment while working within those safety guidelines.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff and departments to coordinate order fulfillment activities and resolve any operational challenges.
- Communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, with a focus on picking, packing, and shipping.
- Familiarity with operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks as well as power tools and hand tools.
- Experience in using ERP systems or similar inventory management software is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment including weekends and outside or normal business hours.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or certification in warehouse operations is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects consistently and safely.
- Ability to lift 50lbs or more consistently.
