What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Team Lead - Porex Foam position at Filtration Group Corp?
Overview
The shift supervisor is accountable for all performance measurements of the plant throughout the shift including safety, quality, and productivity. The position includes people leadership responsibilities for shift personnel (bonus measurement, performance management etc.).
Responsibilities
- Monitor attendance. Approve vacations in accordance with the employee handbook.
- Ensure safety near miss reporting is completed by all employees.
- Monitor safety behaviors and provide immediate feedback to the team.
- Measure and manage productivity for shift and employees.
- Prioritize shift activities to achieve the needed ship plan.
- Drive accurate inventory transactions (production, scrap etc).
- Ensure quality product is produced. Verify production quality throughout the shift.
- Provide performance management to shift team. Recognize and award good behaviors. Coach and discipline bad behaviors.
- Monitor work against standard operating procedures and provide immediate feedback to team.
- Fill in for production roles when vacancies occur.
- Provide emergency response leadership (ex: injury, fire, violence, or theft).
- Manage employee training. Ensure all new employees achieve timely certification before producing independently.
- Document daily shift reports for quality and asset utilization performance.
- Provide effective shift hand-off to the incoming shift.
- Perform basic maintenance activities to keep production safe and ongoing.
- Create detailed work requests and call in maintenance trades for emergency work.
- Troubleshoot and resolve enterprise resource planning (ERP) problems, related to raw materials, work-in-progress, or finished product, for quality status, counts, location or allocation.
Qualifications
- 3 years of manufacturing experience or relevant military experience (required)
- Past manufacturing people leadership or relevant military experience (preferred)
- S. Diploma (required)
