About the Role:
The Controller will play a key leadership role in managing the accounting and finance functions to ensure the organization's financial integrity, operational efficiency, and compliance with reporting standards. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this position will collaborate closely with plant management and other departments to support business objectives and implement best practices across the organization. This position will be based in Mineral Wells, Texas.
The ideal candidate will be a highly organized financial leader with experience in manufacturing environments, proficiency in ERP systems, and a strong understanding of cost accounting principles.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounting operations including credit, collections, billing, payables, cash disbursements, fixed assets, and general ledger entries including designing processes and internal controls to ensure safeguarding of assets and accurate and timely recording of all transactions while simultaneously driving efficiency throughout the organization.
- Responsible for monthly closing procedures in local ERP system including reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts monthly
- Lead and manage the Monthly Operating Review, including preparation, analysis, and presentation of financial performance metrics to executive leadership.
- Ensuring accurate financial reporting in accordance with company policy and Accounting Principles Generally Accepted in the United States
- Manage inventory costing and valuation including proper variance and reserve analysis
- Ensuring accurate and complete metrics reporting
- Respond to group and corporate requests for information in a timely manner
- Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts
- Assist in developing and maintaining various financial analysis necessary to make business decisions ensuring that information is accurate and complete
- Assist the completion of certain governmental reporting (income tax, property tax, sales/use tax), as necessary
- Demonstrate trust, bias for action and entrepreneurship in daily activities and when communicating with other associates and departments.

- Ability to travel to Breckenridge, Texas once a week.
Qualifications
- 5 years of related experience as Controller or Assistant Controller in a manufacturing environment with responsibility for supervising direct reports
- Cost Accounting experience preferred
- S. in Accounting- CPA, CMA and/or MBA, preferred
- Proficient with ERP systems and experience with Excel and Power BI a plus
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with sound organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities but also be deadline oriented
- Willingness to be a part of a team performing whatever duties are necessary to complete the task at hand
