Job Description:
As a Medical Scribe at Filutowski Eye Institute, you will work closely with our ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals to document and assist in the management of patient medical records during examinations and procedures. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality care while maintaining precise and organized medical records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately document patient history, physical exams, and medical procedures in electronic health records (EHR) under the supervision of ophthalmologists and optometrists.
- Transcribe ophthalmologists' and optometrists’ notes and diagnoses, ensuring clarity, completeness, and accuracy.
- Assist in the maintenance of medical records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and facilitate seamless communication.
- Participate in training to stay updated on procedures, terminology, and EHR systems.
- Ensure a comfortable and efficient experience for patients during their visits.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or certification in a related field is a plus.
- Prior experience in a medical or ophthalmology/optometry setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills and the ability to learn and adapt to EHR systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Bilingual a plus.
