Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting surgeons during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process. This position requires the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment. The Surgical Assistant will work closely with both the surgical team and patients in our ambulatory surgery centers.
Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by providing necessary instruments and supplies.
- Prepare the operating room by ensuring all equipment is sterile and ready for use.
- Monitor patient vital signs before, during, and after surgery to ensure stability.
- Maintain infection control protocols to minimize risks during surgical procedures.
- Provide patient care by preparing patients for surgery and assisting with post-operative care.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow and communication during procedures.
- Document relevant patient information accurately in medical records.
- Stay updated on best practices in critical care and infection control.
Experience
- Previous experience in an ambulatory surgery center or hospital setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic life support techniques is essential.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology, as well as vital signs monitoring is preferred.
- Experience in patient care roles is highly desirable, demonstrating compassion and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a calm demeanor.
