ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Support HUSD Mission, Core Purpose, and Values.
- Plans and directs the daily operation of the district’s food service program including overseeing contracted food service vendor.
- Advises the administration on the formulation of policies, procedures, and plans for the operation of the food service program.
- Plan menus that conform to State and Federal Regulations and provides nutritional and appetizing foods.
- Monitors food production and service to assure that planned menus are followed and that substitutions comply with meal requirements.
- Solicits competitive prices while coordinating the purchase of foods, supplies and equipment.
- Directs the preparation of the school food service program budget for current and long-range expenditures and advises the administration on capital outlay for equipment.
- Inspects cafeterias for ensuring healthful and sanitary conditions.
- Establishes accounting procedures and maintains records necessary for sound financial control.
- Assists in the recruitment and selection of food service personnel with input from the building principal.
- Orients food service personnel to policies and procedures and provides the necessary training, as required.
- Assigns specific duties and responsibilities to personnel for whom he/she is directly responsible. Establishes work schedules.
- Evaluates the performance of personnel for whom he/she is directly responsible.
- Provide supervision and direction for the District vendor program for ensuring nutritional compliance.
- Consults with individuals and groups in the school and community and provides information that will contribute to a better understanding of the program.
- Researches a variety of topics (e.g. new products, safety and health requirements, laws, regulations, etc.) for recommending purchases, contracts and maintaining district wide services.
- Prepares school food service-related reports as necessary.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Five (5) years of experience in Food Service Management, institution management, hotel administration or restaurant management involving large quantity food service eligibility.
- Bachelor’s and or Master’s degree in food service & nutrition, or related area of study equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Registered Dietitian (RN) preferred but not required.
- Must possess working knowledge of principles, practices and methods of accounting and auditing; financial administration including budgeting and reports, operations procedures and technology; application of data processing in the maintenance of accounting records and financial administration.
- Understanding of governmental/fund accounting and generally accepted accounting principles for governmental entities preferred.
- Ability to understand and interpret federal, state, and local laws and regulations; contracts and other legal documents; and other authoritative sources relevant to school district accounting, grants, payroll, and accounts payable.
- Ability to pass background and reference checking as stipulated by District standards.
- No convictions for felonies or crimes against children.

A valid driver's license and/or a CDL, if driving is required as part of your position description. The District shall be entitled to review your driving record periodically with the Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles;

This is a 12 month position - Full-Time Monday - Friday

Salary : $85,381 - $119,550
