What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Marketing and Community Relations position at Financial Builders?
Financial Builders Federal Credit Union is a member based non-profit organization where the members are owners and where the success of the credit union benefits them directly with excellent rates and services. The Director of Marketing has a key role in the credit union’s image and reputation. Vital duties will be communicating and the promotion of the credit unions’ products and services for their use promoting members’ financial stability and success . The credit unions marketing focus will be directed by the annual strategic planning session where the Board of Directors and the management team will give a roadmap for the upcoming year.
This position is responsible for the creation, execution, and reporting the results of marketing strategies including: marketing communications, public relations activities, campaigns, and initiatives that advance the brand and competitive position of Financial Builders. This position will work with the management team to position Financial Builders and its brand for continued community awareness, strategies with the goals of expansion and continued growth. This individual will oversee the development and implementation of support materials for Financial Builders initiatives. The Director of Marketing & Community Relations reports directly to the CEO and will provide monthly reports on marketing campaigns and marketing results to be shared with the board of directors.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Marketing
· Develop advertising strategies and marketing campaigns to reach and connect with the desired audience most effectively.
· Create marketing channel roadmaps to grow the Financial Builders brand in geographically diverse segments to develop brand maturity and corresponding product awareness.
· Review and approve marketing materials to ensure they enhance the brand image.
· Manage outside advertising and public relations vendors to include: assigning work, reviewing results, and budgeting.
· Coach and develop other Financial Builders employees in sales and marketing, including managers within other business lines.
· Promote and monitor the Financial Builders brand.
Present annual budget requests and projected event involvement and marketing campaigns.
Planning & Communication
· Thoroughly understand the brand voice of Financial Builders and ensure all internal and external communications align with brand standards, including writing and editing copy.
· Support Financial Builders public relations, social media, and community outreach as a strategist, consultant, figurehead and subject matter expert.
· Design, build, and implement marketing plans to further overall strategic objectives.
· Using marketing analytics, create and manage goals and performance metrics for initiatives and campaigns. Monitor campaigns regularly to understand effectiveness of strategy, making changes for continuous improvement to ensure brand consistency and overall success.
· Track and report the results of marketing plans to senior management on an ongoing basis to ensure that the implementation of the plan continues to support and validate strategic plan.
· Actively promote an internal culture that is sales oriented.
· Conduct and oversee market research to apply segmentation strategies to the existing member base and prospect lists.
· Research and recommend external vendors or organizations that can positively impact branding or marketing efforts.
· Gain an understanding of marketing and advertising compliance, across all channels, as it relates to the financial services industry.
· Develop and implement member surveys regarding credit union products and services, potential products and services, quality of service and other feedback to help the credit union meet member needs. Analyze marketing programs, member surveys, or other tracking tools for qualitative feedback on effectiveness of programs or new programs.
· Research industry trends and demographics in the field of membership and develop recommendations for products and services or marketing programs.
Additional Functions
· Perform special projects and research as assigned.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
· Take photos during credit union events. Maintain photo and slide show for the credit union.

Qualifications
· 3 years of experience in marketing, public relations, advertising, or government affairs, preferably in a banking or financial services environment
· A combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or closely related field,
· Knowledge in credit union systems and marketing applications to include: Google Analytics, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Microsoft Office applications.
