With the ability to cover any financial topic, from serious debt issues to advanced estate planning, the programs are delivered through a wide variety of mediums, such as in-person, online, over the phone, and in group settings. Our coaches are focused on providing people with completely unbiased information and guidance, so individuals can make independent and informed decisions about their financial life and sustain important behavioural change.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Personal Finance Coaches are involved in the following capacities:
- Financial education and guidance – facilitate workshops, webcasts, 1 on 1’s, and phone or chat-based financial coaching to help individuals improve their financial habits and behaviours
- Product development and innovation – develop new products, services, curriculum, and continually innovate existing products and services
- Research and content contribution – analyze data and experiences to write or edit articles and develop research on trends in personal finance
- Strategic contributions and leadership – leverage personal passions and talents to lead or contribute to emerging areas of the business
REQUIRED BACKGROUND AND COMPETENCIES:
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of financial planning for Canada’s population including money management, debt, investing, retirement, taxes, and estate planning
- 10 years min. industry experience and CFP® certification
- Coaching approach employing active listening and assessment of needs, compassion and understanding, ability to change approach based on individual needs, and communicate in terms people can relate to and understand
- Ability to gather research and compile data and information in a clear and usable format
- Excellent public speaking skills, with experience facilitating financial workshops a plus
- Effective communication skills, verbally and in writing
- Initiative, dedication, and desire to thrive in a fast-changing entrepreneurial environment, with flexibility to meet the needs of the business
- Occasional ability to travel to deliver workshops and onsite sessions
TIME COMMITMENT AND PAY:
- Part-time, contract basis expected to be a minimum of 20 hours per month for a year
- Potential to extend the contract or add more hours in the future
- $100/hr
