Job Summary: The Medicaid Specialist will be responsible for assisting eligible individuals in understanding and enrolling in Medicaid programs. This role involves guiding clients through the application process, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately, and providing ongoing support to maintain their benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients in understanding Medicaid eligibility requirements and benefits.
- Guide clients through the Medicaid application process, including completing and submitting forms.
- Verify and collect necessary documentation to support Medicaid applications.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and application statuses.
- Provide follow-up support to clients to ensure continued eligibility and address any issues that arise.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, social workers, and other stakeholders to facilitate client enrollment.
- Stay informed about changes in Medicaid policies and procedures to provide accurate information to clients.
- Conduct outreach activities to identify and assist potential Medicaid-eligible individuals.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in healthcare, social services, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of Medicaid programs and eligibility requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce and other relevant software.
