SCOPE OF ROLE

Come join the team on the front lines of consumer financial health. The Financial Health Network is seeking a Director of Content Strategy to join our Marketing and Communications team to actively drive impact across a portfolio of financial services organizations. The Director of Content Strategy will drive Financial Health Network's content vision and produce high-quality, thought-provoking content across multiple channels. This role is ideal for a strategic content leader who thrives on storytelling, engaging audiences, and building relationships with high-level internal and external stakeholders. This position will lead initiatives including podcast management, thought leadership content creation, social media strategy, and multi-channel content repurposing to increase the reach and impact of Financial Health Network's message.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.

LOCATION

Chicago, Washington D.C., or Fully Remote (U.S. Based)

PROPOSED SALARY RANGE

123,000-$135,000

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10 years of experience in content strategy, editorial management, or similar roles, with proven experience managing multi-channel content initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of podcast production, social media strategy, and content repurposing techniques.
  • Experience liaising with C-level executives and high-profile stakeholders, with exceptional professionalism and communication skills.
  • Data-driven with a keen ability to analyze content performance and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Proficiency in content management systems, social media platforms, and analytics tools.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and project management skills.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to align content strategies with organizational goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Content Generation & Strategy

  • Editorial Calendar : Maintain an editorial calendar that aligns content initiatives with the organization's themes and priorities, ensuring a cohesive narrative across all channels.
  • Content Repurposing : Identify opportunities to repurpose and extend existing content to reach new audiences and meet diverse needs.
  • New Content Identification : Generate new content ideas to support key topics and initiatives, positioning Financial Health Network as a thought leader in financial health.
  • Audience Segmentation & Personalization : Tailor content strategies to different audience segments, enhancing engagement and relevance.
  • Executive & Thought Leadership Content : Collaborate with thought leaders to develop original content, crafting messaging on behalf of Financial Health Network.
  • Member-Specific Content : Develop and curate content that provides value to Financial Health Members, fostering a sense of community and engagement.
  • Diversity & Inclusivity : Ensure diverse voices and perspectives are represented in all content to foster inclusivity.
  • SEO & Content Optimization : Work closely with the Digital team and cross-functionally to optimize content for search engines, enhancing visibility and driving organic engagement.
  • Supporting and collaborating with content production for Financial Health Network's annual EMERGE conference, ensuring cohesive, high-impact content for pre / post engagement.
  • Collaborate internally with relevant stakeholders to identify key event participation, aligning with global event and brand strategy.
  • Podcast Production & Strategy

  • Guest Generation and Ideation : Lead guest recruitment and develop episode concepts that align with organizational goals and audience interests.
  • Discussion Guide & Talking Points : Create discussion guides and talking points for hosts, ensuring key messages and insights are communicated effectively.
  • Stakeholder Liaison : Serve as the primary contact for C-level guests, internal stakeholders, and external communications teams to facilitate episode coordination and preparation.
  • Episode Editing Oversight : Manage the editing process to ensure a polished, professional final product that aligns with brand and quality standards.
  • Supporting Copy Review : Draft and review promotional copy and episode summaries that capture key takeaways and drive engagement.
  • Reporting & Analytics : Collaborate with the Digital team to analyze and report on podcast performance, using insights to refine and grow the series.
  • Social Media Strategy

  • Channel Management : Lead the content strategy for Financial Health Network's primary social media channels, with a focus on audience engagement and brand alignment.
  • Executive Profiles : Support executive presence on social media by crafting and curating content that elevates Financial Health Network's leadership voice.
  • Newsletter, Blog, and Web Content

  • Newsletter Strategy & Execution : Drive content planning, drafting, and editing for newsletters, ensuring timely and valuable communications to subscribers.
  • Blog & Thought Leadership : Develop blog posts and thought leadership articles that engage readers and establish Financial Health Network as an authority in the field.
  • Website Content Management : Oversee regular updates and assessments of key pages, using data insights to refine and optimize popular content.
  • Team Integration & Vendor Coordination

  • Team Collaboration : Work seamlessly with the Marcom team to ensure alignment across projects and support cross-functional content initiatives.
  • Vendor Coordination : Work with external agencies, freelancers, and content vendors as needed, ensuring high-quality and timely deliverables that meet content goals.
