Business Development Manager
Financial Information Inc, (FII) has an excellent opportunity available for an experienced sales professional in the financial and/or market data space for the role of a Business Development Manager in our Tinton Falls, New Jersey office. In this position, your role will be to execute new sales, develop new business opportunities and initiatives, and ensure client management support while discovering any new sales opportunities within our existing client base.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for Sales and Business Development in the US and North American Market.
- Responsible for the creation, structure, negotiation, and closing of any deals and assist in the implementation of sales contracts for new and existing clients.
- Proactively source new opportunities for sales and growth.
- Help to develop and align the sales strategy within both the internal and external market.
- Build long-term relationships with clients across the financial and market data industry.
- Responsible for work within a CRM consisting of contract management, client portfolios, compliance and update of all client records, client user accessibility, and report generation.
- Conduct pre and post sales training via a web portal and work closely with the Client Support Team to train clients to use all products and services.
- Assisting and communicating with clients and prospects to effectively handle all inquiries and requests that may arise.
- Participation in team projects as well as effectively managing individual projects around improving the efficiency of the sales function.
- Attending any requested exhibitions, conferences, and events.
- Perform the job function in compliance with the companies’ rules and procedures and security objectives as defined in our policies and procedures handbooks.
- Any additional task may be reasonably asked and required.
Desired Education and Skills
- General education or equivalent work experience is required and a college degree is desired.
- General sales experience and a proven track record in a similar role is required.
- Understanding Financial Markets is required.
- Experience using CRMs.
- Setting up and supporting internal and external communications with fellow employees as well as clients and prospects.
- Experience in working on and managing multiple sales scenarios, sales development projects, and large workloads.
- Experience in Financial Services and/or Market Data is desired.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong high-level planning, organization, and reporting and presentation skills.
- Ability to provide training to client groups.
- Strong computer skills including but not limited to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to be proactive, work well under pressure, deal with a heavy workload and have a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to travel as U.S. travel will be required from time to time.
