Position Summary

The Director of Innovation is responsible for effective development and execution of digital strategies and for the organization. This includes research, analysis, and reporting related to emerging trends, technologies, digital platforms, and partnerships that enable us to provide innovative experiences and simplify and/or enhance the member experience.  This role will own the product development and lifecycle of key digital products and partnerships from ideation, to launch, maintenance, through the sunsetting or retirement of product.

 

Essential Functions & Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a clear product, vision, strategy and roadmap for digital products, constantly incorporating enhancements based on competitive analysis and in partnership with Executive and Senior Leadership teams
  • Leads development and implementation processes for the organization’s digital technologies
  • Manage daily operations of the digital strategy and innovation employees, including recruiting and selection, training and development, performance and compensation management of the IT Software Manager and team
  • Collaborate with IT Software Manager to determine resource constraints on organizational projects
  •  Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with product development and operations
  • Understand industry trends to determine evolution of digital enhancements
  • Evaluate fin techs and business partners for compatibility with existing CU processes, software and systems, eliminating unnecessary redundancy
  • Creates and communicates complex information from disparate sources into a clear, compelling story that assists key decision makers to commit to action
  • Collaborate with all business functions to ensure digital product messaging and customer engagement while providing support to all stakeholders
  • Product expert on digital products and develops expertise in others to ensure member engagement
  • Define and document metrics for department KPI’s that align to organizational KPI’s
  • Partners with Member Experience Manager to research member and employee feedback that supports key strategic opportunities for digital innovation
  • Build business cases leveraging internal data, secondary research, primary member research, using both quantitative and qualitative methods
  • Ensures compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, and Office of Foreign Asset Controls, and should request legal interpretation as necessary. Must ensure subordinates are also compliant with such laws and regulations.
  • Must be bondable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Education & Qualifications

·      Bachelor’s degree

·      3-5 years of IT or Digital Product Management 

·      5 years of leadership experience

  • Proven project management skills with projects of varying levels of complexity, with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines within budget
  • Able to recommend digital offerings based on data analysis
  • Experience advising executive leadership on industry and business trends

·      Thorough understanding of Credit Union and Banking Regulations
