Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: • Coordinates with Senior License Examination Specialist in Albany CAU and the Administrative Specialist 1 in the NYC CAU to ensure adequate coverage of all functions; • Manages support staff to ensure coverage for processing new complaints, applications and responses on existing files; • Supervises Albany support staff which includes preparing probationary reports and evaluations, reviews and approves timecards and trains staff support on new functions and process; • Establishes new codes and associated business rules, creates new template letters, monitors automatic functions to ensure processes function properly, tests new functionality, troubleshoots system problems, and works with IT staff to resolve identified issues; • Recommends workflow efficiencies to streamline Processing Unit functions; and • Other duties as assigned.

A Juris Doctor, master's or higher degree in a related field can substitute for one year of specialized experience. Journey Level- A bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience providing administrative and staff support to executives, program managers and staff, boards, or commissions by overseeing budget, human resources, and business services activities for an organization or program. A Juris Doctor, master's or higher degree in a related field can substitute for one year of specialized experience.NY HELPS: This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title maybe filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply (see minimum qualifications above). At this time, agencies may recruit and hire employees by making permanent non-competitive appointments. At a future date (within one year of appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination.
