Finatal is partnered with a well-known Private Equity Firm in search of a Controller for one of their portfolio companies. The company is a $900mil leader in commercial facility services. This is an exciting opportunity to join an fast-growing established portfolio company of a reputable private equity firm.
The Controller will report directly to the CFO and is responsible for all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit activities. The Controller will have an instrumental role in setting accounting policy, completion of month-end close, execution of the year-end audit and researching accounting issues. Furthermore, the Controller will manage personnel and collaborate with other leaders across the organization to develop policies and controls that keep assets secure. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller plays a critical role in growth strategy and ensuring financial practices align with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Lead the functions of controllership team including accounting, tax and treasury.
- Complete accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits.
- Oversee all company general ledgers and reporting and coordinate all consolidated reporting.
- Establish and maintain a sound system of internal controls and operational processes in accordance with corporate guidelines, ensuring effectiveness and efficiency of said controls and processes.
- Examine, review, analyze and interpret accounting records in preparation of issuance of financial statements.
- Work with external auditors and provide needed information for the annual audit.
- Coordinates the monthly, quarterly, and annual close functions, ensuring that all transitions are booked in a timely manner and in accord with GAAP.
- Directs and integrates changes in processes into the account systems and accounting cycle.

- Process Improvement and Efficiency: The ideal candidate will have a track record of leading process improvement and efficiency through the accounting function.
- M&A Integration Experience: The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading accounting consolidation / integration for highly acquisitive businesses.
- Industry Experience: The ideal candidate will have career experience within service-based organizations that are labor dependent; ideally in working with long-term contracts
- Powerful Communication: The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including confidence to engage w/ senior leadership.
