What are the responsibilities and job description for the Foreman - Hotwork - 1st Shift position at Fincantieri Marine Group?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Foreman will oversee safety and security procedures.
- Implements organizational policies and goals.
- Measures performance to budget and supports the management in budget analysis and adherence.
- Assists in production control projects.
- Manages work pack in accordance with production control plan.
- Plans overtime and schedules resources as required.
- Interfaces with management to revise project and facility objectives.
- Understands and works within the union contract requirements.
- Must abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED
- Two (2) years experience in a manufacturing or shipbuilding environment or two (2) years of prior leadership/supervisor experience
SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of trade-specific tools, equipment, and safety protocols
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Team leadership and conflict resolution
- Time management and task prioritization
- Communication skills
- Ability to train and mentor apprentices/journeymen
- Familiarity with project management software or basic MS Office

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and walk; use hands to handle materials or equipment; reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee's workspace is in a clean and comfortable climate-controlled setting with little to no exposure to the moving equipment, elements, extreme conditions, or risk of injury. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. When entering the shipyard, the work environment is not climate-controlled and there is exposure to moving equipment, etc.
