Fincantieri Marine Group has an immediate hiring need for a Training and Development Specialist in the Human Resources Department at our Green Bay, WI Corporate location.

Position Summary
This position is responsible for assessing the organization's training needs and creating customized programs to improve or maintain job skills, while also supporting onboarding, orientation, and skills training initiatives. This role includes evaluating training materials, developing procedural manuals, and ensuring alignment with training objectives. The Specialist works closely with business units to define program goals, address challenges, and deliver training using a variety of methods, while also participating in instructional sessions as needed.
The Specialist measures program effectiveness and tracks training activities and outcomes. They stay up to date with industry trends, prepare training status reports, and manage learning and development grants, including WAT and Fast Forward grants. Additionally, the Specialist oversees apprenticeship programs and acts as the main point of contact for technical college outreach. While the role does not include direct supervisory responsibilities, the Specialist serves as a coach and mentor for employees in their training and development efforts. Domestic travel may be required.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. When entering the shipyard, areas of the work environment may not be climate-controlled and there is exposure to moving equipment, etc.

- Assesses the organization's training and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and collaboration with managers, employees, and instructors
- Designs tailored training programs to address specific needs, enhancing or maintaining job skills
- Plans, organizes, and supports the implementation of onboarding, orientation, and skills training initiatives
- Evaluates training materials and instructional content to ensure they align with objectives, making adjustments and developing new training plans as needed
- Develops and organizes procedural manuals and supporting documentation for training programs and systems
- Collaborates with business units to align on program objectives, operational procedures, and potential challenges
- Delivers training and development programs using a variety of methods and formats.
- Participates in instructional training sessions as needed
- Assesses the performance of training instructors and evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback
- Tracks and maintains records of training and development activities, including attendance, test results, assessments, and retraining requirements
- Stays current with the latest trends in training and development to ensure best practices and innovation
- Prepares and communicates training status reports, updates, and progress
- Manages all learning and development grant applications and processes, including WAT and Fast Forward grants
- Oversees apprenticeship programs across all business units
- Serves as the primary point of contact for technical college outreach and partnerships
- Must have strong Microsoft Office Suite computer skills
- Must have strong organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills
- Must have ability to maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor
- All employees are required to adhere to ISO and OHSAS policies established by FMG and shall have high values for safety awareness

- Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 3 Years of -Human Resources or Training experience preferred
- Experience with SAP SuccessFactors preferred
