Position : Part-time Worship Leader / Music Minister
Alachua Methodist Church is seeking a dynamic Worship Leader / Music Minister to help grow a small traditional choir and incorporate periodic contemporary special music.
The ideal candidate must be a strong Christian who feels inspired by the Holy Spirit to encourage and engage an older congregation, coupled with an ability to reach a more youthful demographic by integrating modern music choices with classic, beloved hymns that have graced our sanctuary for over 200 years.
This position requires a musically gifted, vibrant leader who loves all types of Christian music and wants to develop a music ministry in beautiful rural North Florida. Part-time hours, salary commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities include :
- Leading worship services
- Leading weekly rehearsals
- Working with the pastor in picking traditional and modern music to teach choir or praise band weekly
- Developing a praise band as part of weekly worship
- Coordinating with the AV team on any multimedia presentations, slides, and sound checks
- Encouraging and helping develop spiritual growth within the worship team and congregation
