What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health and Safety Coordinator position at Find Great People | FGP?
We are seeking a contract Health & Safety Coordinator for a manufacturer in Portland who can work as a contractor through our staffing agency until late 2026. This person will have the opportunity to become a permanent employee of this company, pending corporate approval. This is a hybrid position with three days in-office and two days at home.
DETAILS
- Partner with various division heads in multiple locations to manage and oversee implementation of health & safety policies, promoting safety strategy and increasing employee participation and engagement
- Conduct effective root cause analysis, incident reporting, case management, system management, and corrective actions, including training
- Review corrective action implementation to ensure compliance
- Carry out safety inspections, risk assessments, accident investigations, etc.
- Compile, analyze, and report on health and safety performance indicators, safety metrics, incident trends and assess risk
- Act as representative for health & safety programs both internally and externally, informing internal members of new and developing regulations
- Ensure compliance with international and local regulations within multiple locations
- Ensure vendors, contractors, etc. are all compliant with health & safety standards
- Maintain all records and documentation in compliance with local and ISO standards
- Support health & safety training and materials creation by collaborating with training departments
- Lead the emergency response plan and ensure team participates in evacuation drills
- Monday-Friday 8-5 PST
- Hybrid position with three days in office, two days at home
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years experience in EHS
- Comfortable working as a contractor through our third party agency
- Knowledge of local and international health, environmental, and safety regulatory requirements
- Strong influencing skills, and great at maintaining relationships with stakeholders, external vendors, agencies, employees, etc.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Innovative problem solver with great investigation skills
PAY/BENEFITS
- Benefits through FGP after 60 days
- Hybrid position (2 days at home)
Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
