Overview

As a Dental Hygienist, you play a crucial role in assisting dentists, educating patients on oral health, and providing preventive dental care. Your expertise in dental hygiene is essential in promoting overall oral health for patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting dental cleanings and oral exams
• Assessing patients' oral health and documenting findings
• Developing and implementing personalized dental hygiene care plans
• Performing preventive treatments, such as fluoride application and sealant placement
• Educating patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care
• Assisting with X-rays and other diagnostic procedures
• Monitoring and charting patients' periodontal status
• Providing support during dental procedures and surgeries
• Maintaining and sterilizing dental equipment
• Collaborating with dentists to coordinate patient care
• Managing appointment schedules and patient records
• Participating in continuing education to stay updated on best practices
• Ensuring compliance with infection control protocols
• Contributing to a positive and professional clinic environment
• Responding to patients' inquiries and concerns
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Dental Hygiene or related field
• Licensure as a Dental Hygienist
• CPR certification
• Proven experience in dental hygiene practice
• Proficiency in performing dental cleanings and screenings
• Knowledge of periodontal disease and its treatments
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to educate patients on oral health and hygiene
• Attention to detail and good hand-eye coordination
• Familiarity with dental software and patient management systems
• Understanding of infection control standards and procedures
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Adherence to professional ethics and patient confidentiality
