CDC Front Desk typical schedule 6am to 9am :
The Front Desk Attendant is the face of the YMCA CDC and responsible for creating a positive environment that reflects the YMCA core values of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Greet all families, staff, and guests as they enter and depart the CDC
2. Answer telephone calls, assist callers and/or direct callers to the appropriate staff, take messages when necessary
3. Work as a team member with other staff
4. Communicate effectively with children, their parents, other YMCA staff and center guests.
5. Assist in maintaining children’s files
6. Assist in accepting tuition and registration payments as necessary
7. Report any concerns to your supervisor
8. Respond to emergencies according to YMCA procedures.
9. Maintain confidentiality regarding personal information on children and staff.
10. Attend family events
11. Participate in quality improvement projects for the classroom and the center.
12. Follow CDC childcare policies and procedures, as well as ODJFS licensing standards
13. Maintain a professional and friendly attitude
14. Attend 6 hours of Ohio Approved in-service training annually
15. Have complete knowledge of emergency procedures
16. Model healthy living and lifestyle.
17. Assist with other duties assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or equivalent required, minimum of Associates Degree preferred.
2. Must have or enroll in CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention and Prevention of Infectious Diseases.
3. Warm and friendly personality and the desire to work directly with young children and their family.
4. Excellent intrapersonal and communication skills.
5. Meet ODJFS licensing qualifications in training and background check.
6. Create and maintain profile on the Ohio Professional Development Network with 30 days.
7. Complete required initial Step Up to Quality trainings within 60 days.

The employee must lift, carry, and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is exposed to fumes and/or chemicals from cleaning products and operating equipment, airborne particles such as dust, and vibrating or moving parts. The noise level is usually moderate to loud.
