What are the responsibilities and job description for the Media Services Page position at Findlay-Hancock County Public Library?
Summary/objective
Under direct supervision, the Page shelves and organizes library materials, maintains shelves and performs special projects. Pages also respond to general questions from patrons.
Essential functions

Customer Service
• Provides excellent customer service to all library patrons
• Maintains confidentiality of patron information
• Directs patrons to library areas or staff as appropriate
• Retrieves library materials for patrons
Shelf Maintenance
• Efficiently shelves library materials in the proper location
• Shifts library materials, as assigned
• Maintains orderliness of displays and shelves
Teamwork
• Maintains a collaborative working environment
• Provides support to department projects, as needed
• Attends meetings and serves on staff committees, as requested
• Supports library-wide initiatives, such as SummerREAD
Miscellaneous
• Records statistics for library transactions, as required
• Maintains and increases knowledge and skills through professional development
• Represents the library at community events, as assigned
• Performs additional duties and assignments, as required
Physical and Environmental Factors
The incumbent may be exposed to:
Physical: Frequent walking, sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and pushing carts. Moving/lifting up to 30 pounds, pushing up to 70 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Environmental: Typical office setting with no extreme temperatures or fumes. Minimal, if any, exposure to hazardous materials. Exposure to dust.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Must be a minimum of sixteen (16) years of age. Work permit required for students. High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Entry level.
Helpful Skills and Abilities: Effective verbal and interpersonal skills to respond to coworkers, supervisor, and patrons. Organization, prioritizing and coordinating multiple tasks. Basic communication skills. Basic computer skills.
Incumbent may be required to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
