Responsibilities:
- Dispatch repair orders
- Assign repair orders to technicians based on skill level and availability
- ensure that all repair orders are properly, logged,tracked and prioritized
- Communicate with service advisors and technicians to provide accurate and timely updates on repairs
- Manage shop flow
- oversee the daily operations of the service shop to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow
- monitor repair progress and ensure that deadlines and customer expectations are met
- organize and prioritize work to avoid delays and optimize shop efficiency
- maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and productivity
- Train and develop entry level technicians
- mentor and provide hands on training for entry level express technicians
- conduct training sessions on basic automotive repair skills, Subaru-specific procedures , and safety protocols
- assist technicians in troubleshooting and provide constructive feedback to help them grow
- evaluate the progress of entry-level technicians and provide constructive feedback to help them grow
- Quality Control
- ensure that all repairs meet Subaru's high standards for quality and safety
- perform final quality checks on completed work before vehicle is returned to the customer
- Address any concerns or issues related to the quality of repairs
- act as a liaison between technicians , service advisors and management
- foster a positive , collaborative work environment and motivate the team to meet and exceed performance goals
- assist with scheduling and timekeeping for the shop staff
- maintain inventory and tools
- ensure that all tools and equipment are in proper working order and report any maintenance needs
Qualifications:
- ASE CERTIFICATIONS & previous experience at an automotive dealership
- Strong technical knowledge
- ability to train and develop entry-level technicians
- excellent organizational and time management skills
- strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with a team
- ability to multi task and maintain high attention to detail
- Valid in-state driver's license and be insurable
- Clean driving record
- ability to lift 50 pounds
