About the Role:
The Retail Buyer will report directly to the Director of Commercial Strategy and will play a key role in supporting the success of Fine Fettle’s 10 retail locations across Connecticut and Massachusetts. This position is responsible for placing and managing product orders, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to each store. The Retail Buyer will proactively monitor inventory levels, aligning stock needs with upcoming promotions and planned deliveries. Serving as the primary point of contact, this role will work closely with in-store inventory teams, retail leadership, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless inventory operations and product availability.
Primary Responsibilities Include, but Are Not Limited To:
- Responsible for planning, selecting, and purchasing products for all retail locations. This includes communications regarding delivery logistics and troubleshooting.
- Manage daily purchasing spreadsheets for Connecticut and Massachusetts
- Utilize software platforms and tools that allow for data driven purchasing decisions.
- Execute purchasing strategy in collaboration with the Director of Commercial Strategy to ensure stores have adequate supply on-hand of all SKUs.
- Maintain effective partnerships with statewide vendors.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the cannabis industry, with 2 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Advertising, Retail Management, Finance, or related field strongly preferred
- Proficiency in ERP and/or Inventory Management systems; advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential
- Detail oriented individual with high stress tolerance
- Highly analytical mindset with the ability to transform data into meaningful insights
- Exceptional organizational skills with a track record of implementing and optimizing operational best practices
- Sound judgment in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent business acumen, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving
- Must be located in Connecticut or Massachusetts
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to pass a Federal Background Check with no felony convictions
