Multi-Family Trim – Site Manager
Job Description and Expectations
Job Summary: Daily onsite management of the finish carpentry work on multi-family new construction building projects.
Primary Functions:
· Daily site scheduling (labor/materials).
· Daily site documentation (reports/pictures).
· Daily site communication.
· Receive and inventory deliveries.
· Ensure that work is performed safely.
· Ensure projects are completed on schedule.
· Ensure projects are completed to the highest standards of quality.
· Attend required Foreman’s meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Plan, coordinate, and supervise finish carpentry activities specific to multi-family residential projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and milestones.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor finish carpenters, fostering a collaborative environment focused on communication, quality and efficiency.
- Quality Control: Conduct and document daily inspections of jobsite and carpentry work to ensure adherence to safety, project specifications, building codes, and industry standards.
- Client and Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with clients, architects, and subcontractors to discuss project schedule, address issues and problem solve, and implement onsite directives.
- Budget Oversight: Monitor and plan resource allocation to ensure efficient use of materials and labor, minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols specific to multi-family construction sites, ensuring all team members adhere to regulations and best practices.
- Problem Solving: Identify potential issues or delays related to the project, including materials, workmanship and schedules, and develop effective solutions to keep the project on track.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project progress, including daily reports, pictures, schedules, and extra work tickets.
Qualifications:
· Must have the ability to commute to and from the assigned jobsite.
- Proven experience as a Site Manager or similar role in finish carpentry, specifically for multi-family building projects.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools relevant to residential construction.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings for multi-family projects.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- OSHA certification or equivalent safety training preferred.
