Summary:
Prepare tables for meals, take guest orders, serve food and drinks, answer questions related to menu items. caters to the wishes of the guests and suggestively sell drinks and food.
Duties include but not limited to: • Attend to and create a warm and pleasant atmosphere for the guests. • Answer any questions related to menu items, their preparation, ingredients and side dishes. • Greet newly arrived guests when they are seated. (within 30 seconds of being seated). • Take drink orders upon guest arrival, bring drinks and offer tickets. Take the entire order and confirm it to the guest for approval. • Present menus to guests and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request. • Enter the orders of the guests in the system quickly in the proper sequence and use the appropriate abbreviations and charges. • Follow moderate alcohol use procedures carefully to prevent alcohol poisoning and you should know how to deal with intoxicated guests. • Take orders from guests for food or beverages; write guests' food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff. • Observe guests and respond to their needs. Serve food or beverages to guests. • Keep the table and in order by lifting what has been used, checking the levels in the drinks, lifting used napkins and papers and providing clean napkins. • Present check to guests when raising the last dish or when required. Take the cash or credit card and return with the change or voucher after one minute of payment. Follow appropriate accounting measures to close the account. • Keep the station clean, and order or remove the dishes from the tables properly. • Attend shift meetings as scheduled and on time. • Check guests' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages • Roll silverware set up food stations or set up dining areas to prepare for the next shift or for large parties. • Clean tables or counters after guests have finished dining. • Prepare hot, cold, and mixed drinks for guests and chill bottles of wine. • Fill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment, and napkin containers • Keep the immediate supervisor informed of any problem or issues of importance and take the necessary actions as required and suggest solutions or alternatives as appropriate. • Perform all activities and responsibilities in a highly effective manner by following the company's established policies to achieve the objectives of your position. • Assist in maintaining positive work environment, contributing to positive morale.
