ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, & RESPONSIBILITES: The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. · Reviews order and job numbers; and checks packages to ensure it meets guidelines from respective shipping companies.
· Confirm the actual weight from using the estimated weight as a reference on paperwork.
· Verify the ship to address, job number, customer’s PO and shipping method matches on paperwork.
· Prepares necessary documents for special handling destinations.
· Prepares pallets for freight shipments.
· Prepares customs documents for international shipments.
· Prepares the necessary steps when shipping ‘Cash on delivery’ (COD) orders.
· Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
POSITION TYPE/REQUIRED HOURS OF WORK:
· Ex: This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 2:00pm to 10:00pm, 40 hours per week. No travel is required for this position. This position requires the employee to work on-site at the facility they are assigned to.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: (Indicate education/experience requirements that are job-related & consistent with business needs.)
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportion, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Proficient on database software, internet, order processing systems, and spreadsheet software.
