Overview

Our client, a New-York based principal investment firm specialized in financing public companies, is seeking a Director of Business Development to lead business development, strategic partnerships, and communications efforts.


Qualifications

  • 8 years of relevant Business Development experience in the finance industry
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (Salesforce)
  • Excellent relationship-building and decision making abilities
  • Strong presentation and leadership skills


Responsibilities

Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement origination strategies to achieve and surpass our targets for opportunities presented to the investment committee and investment goals for capital deployment.
  • Synthesize proprietary capital market transaction analysis and our investment objectives improving how we identify and prioritize origination opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Banks, IR firms and conference organizers to align origination strategies with business initiatives.


Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Set standards for origination targets, quotas, and performance metrics, monitoring progress, and ensuring the team delivers.
  • Targets include frequent communication with the current company network, sourcing new company contacts, and developing relationships with new banks and advisors.


Operational Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key counterparties, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Organize conference attendance to ensure participation is maximized and find new events to attend.
  • Monitor and evaluate origination tools (SalesForce), technologies, and systems to streamline origination processes and improve effectiveness.


Analytical Responsibilities:

  • Analyze origination data, market and sector trends, and counterparty feedback to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Implement origination forecasting and pipeline management processes to accurately predict origination investments and track performance.
  • Monitor and assess competitor activities and industry developments to adjust origination strategies accordingly.
