About the Role:
The Receiver plays a crucial role in the supply chain process at Coventry Lumber, ensuring that all incoming materials are accurately accounted for and properly stored. This position is responsible for inspecting shipments for quality and quantity, verifying that they match purchase orders, and documenting any discrepancies. The Receiver will collaborate closely with warehouse staff and management to maintain an organized inventory system, which is essential for efficient operations. Additionally, this role involves maintaining safety standards and ensuring that all materials are handled in compliance with company policies. Ultimately, the Receiver contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain, supporting the company's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving role.
- Basic computer skills for inventory management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent communication, time management, and leadership.
- Experienced in operating a forklift
- Computer proficiency and ability to learn new operating systems.
- Knowledge of Building Materials and their specifications
- Experience with BisTrack Software.
- Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed, and/or shipped.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.
- Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
- Assemble customer special orders from stock, place orders on pallets and shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
- Receive all special orders and stock orders through the company’s operation system
- May also be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed, including sweeping, dusting and mopping, as well as organizing warehouse and work areas to ensure orderliness at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
- Document and report any discrepancies or damages in shipments.
- Organize and store materials in designated areas within the warehouse.
- Collaborate with warehouse/yard staff to maintain an accurate inventory system.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during the receiving process.
Skills:
The required skills for this position include attention to detail, which is essential for accurately inspecting shipments and documenting discrepancies. Strong organizational skills are necessary to maintain an orderly warehouse and ensure that materials are stored correctly. Effective communication skills are important for collaborating with team members and reporting issues to management. Preferred skills, such as forklift operation, enhance the Receiver's ability to efficiently move materials within the warehouse. Additionally, familiarity with inventory management software can streamline the receiving process and improve overall productivity.

- Monday to Friday 6:30 AM to 5 PM
- Saturdays from 7 AM to 12 PM
