Provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment in which children can grow physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to all New York State Office of Children and Family Services regulations
- Follow all Center policies and procedures
- Support Lead Teacher in general supervision and management of class
- Assist children with personal and self-care needs
- Assist with planning and implementing daily program under Lead Teacher's supervision
- Assist with preparing and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized learning environment
- Attend staff meetings, fulfill all training requirements, and maintain all mandatory clearances
- Maintain regular communication with parents
- Develop a supportive relationship with children, focusing on safety, cleanliness, and happiness in a learning-through-play environment
- Interact with children and encourage involvement in activities
- Use appropriate and positive techniques to manage behavior
- Respect and maintain confidentiality of children, parents, and staff
- Notify Lead Teacher or Director when an incident occurs at the Center
- Follow guidelines set by Child and Adult Care Food Program
- Assist Lead Teacher in recordkeeping by passing on observations regarding children's behavior, health, and development
- Perform other duties as assigned

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
- The Teacher Assistant is part of the Child Care Center of Finger Lakes Community College Association and reports to t he Lead Teacher and the Child Care Center Director
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
- High school diploma or its equivalent or one year of experience working with children less than 13 years of age
COMPENSATION:
- Starting hourly rate of $15.50, based on experience and qualifications.
- Full- time hourly (40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year) and part-time hourly (20-30 hours per week, 30 weeks per year)
- Sick leave (full-time and part-time)

- Medical and dental insurance (part-time at 100% employee expense)
