UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health is seeking a Surgical Scheduler to join our team! Seeking experienced clerical candidates with prior experience within a physician's office setting, candidates without medical setting experience will not be considered. This position is located in Geneva, NY and is full-time. The schedule is Monday-Friday. Full benefits and generous PTO package available!

POSITION SUMMARY:
-
Under the direction and supervision of the Office Manager, schedules all surgeries in a timely, accurate, and courteous manner. Coordinates day to day operations for specific surgeon(s). Communicates with patients to ensure their understanding of the surgical process and requirements. Obtains pre-authorization from insurance companies for all scheduled procedures.

Minimum:

High School or equivalent education.

Preferred:

AAS degree in Medical Assistant/Secretarial Science or experience in business with emphasis on healthcare or related field.

WORK EXPERIENCE:-
Minimum:

Medical terminology knowledge or course completion.

Knowledge and understanding of physician ordering practices, and basic scheduling database maintenance.

Preferred:

Prior surgical services scheduling in an acute care setting.
