The Finger Lakes Performing Provider System (FLPPS) is a network of clinical and community-based providers working together across the 13-county Finger Lakes region to transform healthcare delivery, advance system transformation, close gaps in care, and support high-risk individuals and populations. FLPPS and its affiliated health home, the Greater Rochester Health Home Network (GRHHN) support providers in integrated healthcare delivery system optimization, care management, network and program management, population health and data analytics, and learning and development.    Additionally, FLPPS is a designated New York State Workforce Investment Organization (WIO) working with training and educational institutions, health systems and other providers, and Social Care Networks to strengthen the healthcare workforce.

 

Position Summary

Planning and managing key projects; leading project teams and managing resources to achieve targeted objectives, deadlines and budgets. As the project management subject matter expert, identify best practices, establish internal guidelines, share knowledge and provide training to grow the skill set throughout the FLPPS team.  This role is funded by New York State through the Career Pathways Training Grant through 2027.

Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support organizational strategies while working in collaboration with FLPPS Leadership and other stakeholders
  • Manage and communicate project dependencies and expectations to team members and stakeholders for consistent and timely updates
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones; track and communicate status of project deliverables
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle
  • Delegate tasks/responsibilities, manage deliverables, and identify and resolve issues within the project team
  • Develop and deliver requirements documentation proposals/recommendation, progress reports and presentations
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential concern, and recommend contingency plans
  • Provide oversight to support a wider view to the resources and participants needed to achieve project goal
  • Collaborate with FLPPS leadership to support prioritization of projects and resources to balance workload and set the stage for success
  • Build, develop, and grow business/partner/customer relationships vital to the success of FLPPS projects 
  • Conduct project postmortems and create a recommendations’ report to identify successes and challenges – informing lessons learned for current and future projects
     
    Subject Matter Expert, Training and Coaching
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate project team members and influence them to take positive action and accountability for assigned work
  • Create and execute a training program to educate and elevate project management skills set of colleagues
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management
  • Serve as subject matter expert for best practices, tools and templates for project management
  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience required
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification highly preferred
    • Knowledge of local healthcare workforce initiatives desired
    • 10 years of project or program management experience in the planning and deploying of business initiatives
  • Demonstrated project management experience effectively working with multiple, diverse stakeholders in a complex project environment 

 

  • Experience working within an integrated health system, health plan, population health organization, or college/university is preferred
  • Strong analytical skills
