Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Working Foreman to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supervising apprentices and laborers, ensuring daily operations run smoothly, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety on job sites. This position requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a comprehensive understanding of the commercial painting process as it relates to new and existing construction. The Working Supervisor will communicate regularly with our project manager and project coordinators, manage on-site activities, and ensure quality control while maintaining safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership:
- Directly supervise apprentices and laborers on job sites.
- Delegate tasks based on skill level and project needs.
- Daily Operations:
- Oversee the execution of daily tasks, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Coordinate with project managers and project coordinators regarding material orders and progress updates.
- Training & Development:
- Mentor apprentices to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Safety Enforcement:
- Monitor adherence to safety protocols on-site.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and project timelines.
Other Duties
- Supervise and lead a team of painters on-site to ensure project goals are met efficiently and effectively.
- Conduct construction estimating to assess project costs and resource requirements.
- Utilize company software (Knowify) for project management and documentation.
- Perform quality control inspections to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
- Train and mentor team members in technique and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with other trades and subcontractors to facilitate smooth workflow on the construction site.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional painting experience.
- Strong skills in spraying, cutting, rolling, and basic drywall repairs.
- In-depth knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Proven experience as a foreman or similar leadership role in the painting industry.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to delegate tasks and oversee quality and efficiency.
- Strong commitment to safety.
- Effective communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in using project management software and tools (e.g., Knowify) is a plus.
- Must have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
- Bilingual candidates possess a significant advantage.
