Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of project managers and civil engineers, fostering a collaborative environment that supports professional growth and skill development.
- Client Relations & Business Development:
- Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring repeat business opportunities and identifying new business prospects.
- Design & Project Management:
- Oversee civil engineering designs, including preparation of construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and reports across various projects.
- Permitting & Compliance:
- Manage the permitting process for projects, ensuring timely approvals and compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
- Project Scheduling & Budgeting:
- Develop and manage project schedules and budgets, providing accurate forecasts and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Communicate effectively with clients, agencies, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Mentorship & Staff Development:
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff, supporting their professional growth and development.
- Quality Assurance & Process Improvement:
- Ensure adherence to QA/QC procedures within the design teams and actively contribute to improving company resources and processes for better efficiency and quality.

- Oversee the development of engineering designs, reports, construction drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Lead initial project layouts that meet client needs and comply with relevant codes.
- Manage permitting strategies to ensure timely project approvals.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources.
- Represent clients in hearings and handle project appeals.
- Engage in professional and technical organizations to stay current with industry trends.
- Mentor junior staff and serve as a technical resource.
- Prepare fee estimates and ensure project deliverables align with client expectations.
- Conduct technical reviews of staff reports and deliverables.
- Contribute to company process improvements and resource development.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong technical expertise with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Extensive experience preparing plans, specifications, cost estimates, and providing engineering support for municipal projects.
- In-depth knowledge of the permitting process and strategies.
- Solid understanding of land use codes and feasibility reports.
- Proven problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency and effective solutions.
- Strong leadership capabilities and experience managing teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and civil engineering software (Civil 3D, Bluebeam).
- Ability to develop new business from both existing and new clients.
Education and Experience:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
- Experience:
- 15 years of progressive engineering and management experience, with a focus on land development projects.
- Licensing:
- Professional Engineering (PE) license required; multi-state licensure preferred.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
