Job Details
This candidate would be working with our transactional real estate department to effectively manage real estate closing transactions involving both residential and commercial properties and the issuance of title insurance under supervision of attorneys. This career position requires at least 3 years prior recent experience as a real estate paralegal or title officer with ability to handle commercial and residential real estate closing files from start to finish. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Setting up and maintaining department files, including hard files and case management program files.
-Reviewing lender loan packages and completing necessary tasks to meet lender requirements.
-Reviewing and analyzing title documents to identify and clear title defects and prepare for closing.
- Drafting closing documents including, but not limited to closing disclosures, settlement statements, deeds, and affidavits.
-Researching and obtaining homeowner’s association certifications of assessments.
-Researching and calculating property tax prorations.
-Managing closing disbursements and balancing closing funds.
-Communicating clearly and effectively with attorneys, clients, real estate agents, land ender and title insurer representatives.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience as a real estate paralegal
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, work independently, and manage time effectively
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, & Excel a must; SoftPro a plus)
- SC Notary a plus
- Paralegal certification preferred
