Role Overview
We are seeking a Trial Technology Specialist will utilize knowledge of litigation logistics, customer/client needs and vendor selection procedures to execute appropriate information technology support necessary for providing technology support on trials in accordance with client and firm guidelines.
Responsibilities
Leverage resources to deliver an “in office” experience to case teams travelling for trials, hearings, arbitrations, and mediations
May coordinates the cross-functional delivery of services to case teams, and serve as main contact for all IT questions, concerns and needs during trials
Assists with developing, meeting and following Trial Technology operating standards, practices, and procedures, including development and implementation of methods for measuring and reporting on achieving goals and objectives set by senior leadership
Utilizes audio and visual equipment to display courtroom graphics and exhibits.
Assists with maintaining knowledge databases relevant to trials and presentation work including information about judges’ preferences regarding IT set-ups, courtroom layouts, courthouse restrictions or requirements for the use of outside IT equipment
Effectively markets and promotes the firm’s services and trial resources
Investigates and develops trial support best practices and advises case teams on implementing those practices, as well as evaluates and recommends trial technology tools
Works with eDiscovery team and other IT personnel to test and implement trial technology software and upgrades within the firm environment
Assist with trial equipment and supply room inventory in relation to trial preparation
Ensure accurate and timely entry of billable and non-billable time and review File Trail entries prior to month-end closing
Frequent travel to support legal proceedings
Other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required with a concentration in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred. In lieu of an IT-related degree, minimum three years of litigation and trial technology support in a professional services environment required; law firm experience preferred.
Technical experience required.
Must be self-motivated, yet willing to work in a team environment.
Previous litigation support or similar legal experience preferred, including previous experience working independently with clients and litigation teams
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including strong knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat to include redacting and redlining expertise.)
Must have the ability to work well under pressure, meet frequent deadlines, and prioritize multiple tasks
Excellent oral and written communication (including spelling and grammar) and interpersonal skills are required
The base annual pay range for this role is between $90,000 - $115,000. The base pay to be offered will vary and depend on skills and qualifications, experience, location and will also take into account internal equity. A full range of medical, financial and/or other benefits dependent on the position will also be offered.
