Summary
The APRN utilizes skills acquired through advanced training in communication techniques, physical and psychological assessment, and management of clients' health needs and illness. The nurse practitioner functions independently and interdependently under the guidance of and written protocols approved by the Finney County Health Department Medical Director as per Kansas State practice laws. This position is under the general supervision of the Health Department Director and/or his/her designee.

Provide primary, urgent and wellness care for men, women, and children. Assess and manage the medical care needs of clients in a clinic setting and perform physical examinations and procedures within moral, ethical, and legal boundaries. Make routine diagnosis of injury or illness. This includes clients to the Health Department, the Finney County Jail, Juvenile Detention Center (JDC), and the shelter.
