What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lube Technician position at FINNEY COUNTY?
Summary
This is a mechanic assistant / general laborer position responsible for maintenance and repair of light- and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, and is also responsible for basic mechanical work. This position will operate road construction and maintenance equipment for maintenance purposes. This position is under the general supervision of the Shop Supervisor and/or his/her designee.

Maintains, repairs, and services department vehicles and equipment
Performs routine & preventative maintenance such as; lubricates fittings, changes oil, fluids and filter replacements.
Performs oil sampling at required intervals.
Performs minor repairs such as; belts, hoses, batteries, bulbs…etc., on all types of vehicles and equipment to include public safety vehicles, shop, mining, industrial, heavy construction equipment; loaders; dump trucks; and small engine and small equipment.
Perform visual inspections of all vehicles and equipment being worked on.
Maintenance may include roadside service using work zone safety equipment.
Performs work according to service manuals, schematics, and hydraulic flow charts.
Tests equipment for proper operation by operating/driving and using test equipment.
Complete work area clean-up tasks, general shop clean-up tasks, and maintenance of other department facilities and as assigned; assist other mechanics and welders as needed.
Prepare and accurately complete maintenance records and work orders, record hours of service, mileage and inspections.
Attend training needed to perform the functions of the job such as mine safety training (MSHA), OSHA, Hazmat. First Aid/ CPR, Defensive Driving and maintains awareness of safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment, including properly wearing and using personal safety equipment.
