Primary Responsibilities
1. Program Leadership:
- Oversee all aspects of the varsity football program, including practice planning, game strategy, and player development.
- Establish a culture of sportsmanship, teamwork, and excellence both on and off he field.
- Manage assistant coaches and provide guidance and professional development opportunities.
- Foster the athletic, academic, and personal growth of student-athletes.
- Monitor academic performance and promote a balance between athletics and academics.
- Ensure player safety by teaching proper techniques, conditioning, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Develop and implement effective practice schedules and game plans.
- Maintain and inventory equipment, uniforms, and facilities.
- Organize team travel, meals, and logistics in collaboration with the Athletic Director.
- Comply with OHSAA regulations, as well as Finneytown High School policies and procedures.
- Build positive relationships with parents, school staff, and the Finneytown community.
- Promote the football program through community events, social media, and other outreach efforts.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive environment for all student-athletes.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; teaching license preferred but not required.
- Experience:
o Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire student-athletes.
- Skills:
o Ability to develop strategic game plans and adapt to changing situations.
o Commitment to fostering academic success and character development.
