NPA Lead – New Product Approval Process Consultant

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced NPA Lead to support a comprehensive end-to-end analysis of a financial institution’s New Product Approval (NPA) process. The goal of this role is to identify inefficiencies, engage stakeholders, and propose streamlined and effective process enhancements. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in NPA or similar new product processes, process re-engineering, stakeholder engagement, and systems evaluation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the current state analysis of the NPA process across Front Office, Control Functions, and corporate teams.
• Conduct and manage interviews with 25 stakeholders across multiple functions to gather feedback on existing processes.
• Identify problem areas in the current NPA process including inefficiencies, redundancies, bottlenecks, and pain points.
• Leverage industry knowledge to assess gaps and propose improvements in new product approval workflows.
• Document all findings, including pain points, process maps, and stakeholder feedback clearly and concisely.
• Analyze the use of governance and workflow systems and identify opportunities for improvement in documentation, reporting, and workflow.
• Develop future-state process recommendations with a strong focus on operational handoffs, compliance, and system integration.
• Ensure all recommendations align with relevant regulatory expectations and internal governance standards.
• Prepare actionable implementation plans to guide future process transformation (note: implementation itself is out of current scope).
Required Qualifications:
• Proven experience in analyzing and improving New Product Approval (NPA) or equivalent financial services product governance processes.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements in financial services and how they impact new product introduction.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills; ability to manage input from multiple departments including Front Office and Control Functions.
• Exceptional analytical and documentation skills; able to synthesize complex processes and feedback into actionable insights.
• Consulting background preferred, especially within financial services or regulated industries.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with governance, risk, and compliance systems such as Archer (nice to have, not required).
• Prior experience supporting large, global financial institutions or similar regulatory-heavy environments.
• Familiarity with cross-regional coordination and enterprise-level governance processes.
• Knowledge of best practices in change management and implementation planning
