Purpose:
The Director of Compliance Testing supports the Compliance Management System by overseeing the
Bank’s compliance testing function for all business lines. The compliance testing function is critical to the Bank’s success as it allows the Bank to identify and correct compliance issues. It also serves to validate operational compliance. This position will be based in Murray, UT, and report to the VP of Compliance Testing.
Tasks:
- Develop the annual schedule for testing.
- Revise and update the testing program as needed, including but not limited to the following components:
- Sampling Methodology
- Reporting Template
- Procedures
- Test Scripts
- Stay abreast of all federal and state regulatory changes related to consumer lending and ensure those changes are incorporated into the Bank’s testing program.
- Provide final reviews of testing and reporting to ensure it is accurate and finalized for internal and external audiences.
- Contribute to Compliance Committee, Audit Committee, and Board Reporting.
- Assess the universe of Compliance Risk in the business.
- Support the development and maintenance of a culture of compliance within FinWise Bank and its Partners through sound and consistent feedback.
- Establishes and advances relationships with Partners and Bank departments while proactively identifying and forecasting future testing needs.
- Participates in events, work groups, committees, which gain exposure for FinWise Bank as appropriate.
- Effectively communicate testing goals to internal and external customers.
- Exercises job-related judgment and knowledge that will enhance and further the testing structure.
- Organizes and prioritizes testing for the team, while working within strict deadlines.
- Source and hire talent to significantly grow the testing and validation team.
- Develop relationships with senior management across the business.
- Actively participates and demonstrates leadership skills in meetings with Compliance team, all management meetings, and leadership meetings.
- Responsible for the supervision of direct reports within Compliance Department including orientation, counseling, training, competencies, scheduling, disciplinary actions.
- Mentor direct reports and support their professional development.
- Ensures that performance evaluations are conducted thoroughly and in a timely manner.
- Design and implement improvements in communication, monitoring, or enforcement of compliance standards.
- Communicates goals and expectations clearly and effectively with direct reports.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Federal Regulations and how regulations apply to bank programs; including but not limited to: Debit and Credit card payments, UDAAP, ECOA/Fair Lending, TILA, TISA, FCRA/FACTA, Privacy (GLBA / RFPA), SCRA, MLA, ESIGN, FDCPA, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, EFTA, EFAA, and other deposit regulations, & lending laws and regulations.
- Skill in formulating strategies and concepts.
- Experience working with auditors and regulators (e.g., FDIC, UDFI).
- Ability to effectively prioritize projects and tasks.
- Comfortable working under tight deadlines.
- Independent; able to tackle tasks on your own or within a group environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to perform effectively with members of different departments as a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications
Required Education / Experience / License:
- BA/BS or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead.
- Experienced in managing and maintaining a compliance testing program as part of a financial institution’s Compliance Management System Program.
Preferred Education /Experience / License:
- Master’s degree or JD degree with emphasis in business, compliance, or related field.
- Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (“CRCM”).
- Minimum of 5 years in regulatory consumer compliance with experience in the following Federal laws and regulations:
- Equal Credit Opportunity Act (“ECOA”)/ Regulation B

Minimum Essential Requirements:
- Sit or stand at a computer for extended periods of time and look at a computer screen for several hours a day.

Salary : $105,000 - $130,000
