Summary:
Cellar Lead staff plays a vital role supporting supervisors on duty by monitoring tasks when supervisors are no present and are integral part of the team by developing, assisting, mentoring and training new crew members to reach their maximum capacity with the assistance of supervisor and manager. Cellar Leads are also expected to provide support to all the Cellar team by helping do all day-to-day cellar operations
Reports to: Cellar Supervisor
Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Requirements
You Will:
- Able to perform and train personnel in all winemaking and day-to-day cellar operations.
- Assist, mentor on proper executions of Work Orders (WO)
- Understand, assist, and train on chemicals usage and enforce personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Take the supervisor role when it is needed.
- Help with Monthly and weekly inventories when requested by supervisor.
- Support supervisor on following and enforcing safety protocols.
- Collaborate with supervisor on daily tasks for efficient workflow and timely completion of Work Orders.
- Collaborate and work with cellar crew in executing/completing all day-to-day cellar operations.
- Help to implement and follow standard operation procedures.
- Help to continuously mentor new crew members on the company’s culture.
- Other duties as assigned.
You Have:
- Outstanding leadership skills with a focus on safety, training and development
- Positive and team-oriented attitude
- Ability to plan and execute cellar workflow based on need
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Minimum 4 years’ experience managing a cellar team
- bilingual preferred but not a must.
- A proven team player able to establish good working relationships.
- Able to work 12-hour shift during harvest if needed.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Ability to carry up to 50 pounds over moderate distances.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
- Ability to work with chemicals while using proper PPE.
- Able to work weekends if needed.
- Able to work in wet conditions.
- Able to work overtime as needed.
- Able to work in cold conditions.
- Able to work with heights.
- Able to multitask.
