As the Event Staffing and Operations Manager, you are responsible for the onboarding, training, scheduling, and placement of our hourly operations teams for our Delivery, Full Service and Event Space teams, supporting the execution of Full-Service Operations in the field and building and leading a culture that develops and creates opportunities for our people to continue to grow alongside our business.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Design and Implement an Operational Strategic plan for Onboarding and Staffing that supports the overall vision for the Catering business.
- Maintain staffing levels and all scheduling needs for Delivery, Full Service and Event Space Operations through weekly schedules and management and messaging of Service Team Individuals
- Manage and maintain the onboarding process for all new team members, including recruiting, first introductions, offer letter, coordinating onboarding with HR, execution of HOPE Day and training schedules.
- Partner with Delivery Sales and Operations Manager and Catering Operations Leadership Team to create, develop and maintain a quarterly strategy for the Hiring, Training and ongoing development of the operations hourly team to meet and exceed the needs and growth of the business
- Collaborate with the Catering Operations Leadership Team to create an internal architecture that provides clarity and opportunity to promote growth and development amongst the hourly team to meet the operational needs of the business
- Manage and maintain the updating of the Routing Book and ensure that Best People, Best Place guidelines are always followed
- Make data-driven decisions through collaboration with the Catering Operations Team to initiate and drive operational efficiencies resulting in improved Catering profitability and operational capacity. This will be accomplished through the following:
- Support the execution of the Delivery, Full Service and Event Space Operations Team’s with Humility, Optimism, Passion and Engagement through rapid growth and change
- Partner with the Delivery Sales and Operations Manager and Delivery Supervisor to support in providing clarity, opportunity and accountability to promote growth and development within the Delivery Business model
- Collaborate with the Catering Operations Leadership team to initiate and drive operational efficiencies resulting in improved Catering profitability though meeting labor budgets and building efficiencies in event execution
- Support Catering Operations Leadership team to develop and assign KPI’s through personalized development plans for all Event Lead and Senior Full Service Team members that are aligned with the overall growth and development of the team and the Catering Sales Strategy for growth
- Provide leadership that is goal-driven and collaborative, focused on developing and increasing the capabilities of the team by modeling how to work collaboratively to deliver powerful results
- Support the Catering Operations Leadership team in Managing an internal system for all Full-Service Equipment and In-house rental to help improve Catering profitability
- Collaborate with the Catering Operations Leadership Team and Executive BBQ Sous Chef to support an internal structure for accountability for all cost areas to ensure budgets are met including labor, supplies, linen, equipment and fleet
- Partner with Fiorella’s Event Space GM and Event Service Manager to Manage and direct overall facility maintenance, cleanliness and organization
- Be up to date with all service and food and beverage trends and implement best practices to help continue to foster growth
- Work closely with the Executive Chef and Director of Sales to stay up to date on Menu and Service Pricing as well as ensuring the Accurate Contracting of all Delivery, Full Service and Event Space events.
- Provide quarterly report to VP of Catering and Senior Leadership team on the performance of assigned KPI’s
- Partner with Director of Catering Operations and VP of Catering to develop an operational strategy for the Compensation Plans for Hourly teams that align with the growth of the business as a whole
- Support the daily performance and execution of the Delivery, Full-Service and Event Space hourly teams to ensure their alignment and success with Caterings overall plan for strategic growth.
- Conduct regular and consistent communications including meetings with department staff to discuss vision, provide clarity and address concerns.
- Support and maintain internal and operational processes and procedures to ensure efficient and effective workflows and execution of all Delivery, Full Service and Event Space events
- Promote a collaborative and optimistic work environment including the mediation and timely address of potential disputes with team members
- Full comprehension and understanding of all Catering systems and processes for food, beverage and service to provide consistency and efficiency for the day-to-day operations of the business including supporting in the field on events no less than 4 times per month
- Accountable for ensuring overall Remarkable Guest Satisfaction and Experience and the immediate reporting of all guest feedback and operational misses to the Delivery Sales and Operations Manager and Director of Sales
- Responsible for Communicating Professionally, Respectfully and Consistently with all Staff and Peers
- Responsible for building and maintaining Positive, Impactful and Professional Relationships with all Staff and Peers
- Additional responsibilities as needed and necessary for the continued growth of the business
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 2 years of Front and/or Back of the house management experience in a high volume, full service food environment preferred but not required.
- Possess ServSafe certification or have the ability to certify during MIT training.
- Cannot be convicted of a felony.
- Cannot be convicted of a DUI/DWI.
- Be minimally proficient at bartending and kitchen operations.
- Ability to multi-task and quickly think on your feet.
- Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
- Possess basic accounting and computer skills.
- Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
- Familiarity with food, beverage and labor cost controls.
- Ability to be seen as a positive role model and strong leader.
- Ability to be self-motivated and take initiative.
- Possess good communication skills to deal with customers and staff.
- Ability to ascertain staff training needs and provide such training.
- Ability to direct performance of all staff and follow up with correction where needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Able to stand or walk constantly, 100% of shift
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, lift, push and pull materials throughout shift
