Cemetery Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced heavy equipment operator. At Fir Lane you will be responsible for the care of the cemetery grounds. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of machinery on job sites. This role is critical for maintaining productivity and adhering to safety standards in all operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as backhoe tractor/mowers, front loaders, dump trucks, to perform various tasks including digging to specific measurements, and transporting materials.
• Operate chain saws, edgers, weed eaters, trimmers, blowers, and casket lowering device.
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance. Report any issues or malfunctions to the maintenance manager promptly.
• Set memorials/markers and vases as needed.
• Assists in excavating burial sites and placing vaults or liners.
• Sets up required equipment for graveside services and takes down and transports equipment after services.
• Backfill, replaces sod, and resets memorials / markers after services.
• Follow all safety regulations and guidelines while operating machinery on-site.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in heavy equipment operation is required.
• Familiarity with operating various types of heavy equipment such as backhoes, dump trucks.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team setting.
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to life up to 75 pounds safely.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
