Full Job Description - KITCHEN TEAM MEMBER
full-time (35-40 hours/week) and part-time (15-20 hours/week) opportunities available
We’re looking for bakers & cooks to join us in our kitchen! You will need to prepare a wide range of pastries, such as, muffins, croissants, cakes, and cookies. Baker responsibilities include executing our recipes, rolling out dough, preparing fillings for pastries. To be successful in this role, you should have work experience as a Baker and be able to work at a very fast pace while maintaining a positive attitude.
The ideal candidate will be pleasant to work with, a team player who’s not above any task, hard-working and able to handle a very fast-paced work environment. We like to have fun, but we take our work very seriously -- you should too!
Minimum requirements -- please make sure you meet these before applying:
- No culinary degree required, but prior kitchen experience is an absolute must -- internships, class time, and paid work all count!
- High stamina and endless hustle
- Available between 4 AM and 2 PM Wednesday through Sunday (actual hours may vary)
- Fit enough to lift 50-lb bags of flour and stand on your feet for hours at a time
- Familiarity with our brand and products
- Above all, we value reliability. You must always be on time and ready to work at your best.
Preferred qualifications -- these are nice-to-haves:
- Background/experience in bread or pastry
- An affinity for numbers (scaling up/down recipes, for example)
- Recipe development experience
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Weigh flour and other ingredients to prepare dough
- To create croissant dough in all it's stages
- Mix various ingredients to create fillings for pastries, cakes and pies (e.g. nut & pastry creams, savory pesto’s, and fruits)
- Shape dough to prepare different types of pastries, including croissants, cookies and pies
- Day to day planning with ingredient prep.
- Track ingredient supplies
- Clean your work station & tools after use on a daily basis
