Gear Wash is a full-service verified Independent Service Provider (ISP) of PPE care and maintenance, available throughout the US. As a subsidiary of Fire-Dex, we specialize in advanced cleaning, inspection, repair, alteration, and equipment customizations for first responders. Our services and rentals meet established industry and manufacturer standards. We’re seeking a Pick-Up and Delivery Driver / General Labor.
Hours of Work: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Hours will vary based on routes that are driven.
Driving Duties include:
- Safely operate a company-supplied conversion van and box truck making pick-ups and delivering it to and from departments
- Safely operate a company-supplied delivery vans making pick-ups and deliveries of firefighter PPE (personal protective equipment)
- Learn the routes using maps/GPS
- Provide excellent customer service
- Perform other duties as assigned
General Labor Duties include:
- Provide production intake and output by providing warehouse and quality support
- Effectively communicate with team members
- Intake, tag, sort and process incoming garment orders
- Operate laundry machines
- Accurately enter garment data in internal tracking system
- Develop strong working knowledge and understanding through referencing and following company procedures, such as laundry and garment inspection and testing, general operations, and cleaning and preparation work procedures
- Complete work according to company quality standards while achieving company efficiency standards
- Assist with making pick-ups and deliveries in a company-supplied vehicle
- Build working knowledge and demonstrate familiarity of all equipment used for cleaning PPE
- Provide support as directed to various departments.
- Demonstrate adaptability to learn new skills and follow company procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
- Possess a valid drivers' license with a good driving record
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Ability to speak, read and write English
- Previous experience in pick-up and delivery is helpful (ex: pizza or other food delivery, flower delivery, ride-hailing, etc)
- Dependable and reliable with attendance
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds due to the nature of handling garments/picks-ups and deliveries
- Ability to follow instructions and directions
- Possess a high attention to detail and accuracy
- Has a solution focused mind-set
- Possess good communication and customer relations skills, enjoys interaction with people
