Fire-Dex is a family-owned company headquartered in Medina, Ohio. Our manufacturing facilities specialize in creating head-to-toe firefighter protective gear for first responders worldwide. Our offerings include turnout gear, alternative PPE, boots, hoods, gloves, and helmets. We are looking to add to our team of dynamic associates in Medina with associates who are ready to contribute to our mission to serve those who serve.
You could have very purposeful work being a Firefighter Gear Sewing Associate at Fire-Dex! We’re seeking self-motivated associates to train to work in a team setting and maintain quality and speed while operating industrial sewing equipment while standing to make safe and effective PPE (fire suits/gear) for the first responders we serve.
You do not need to know how to sew to join our production team. If you are energetic with an upbeat personality, have manual dexterity, the ability to multi-task, and are detail oriented, we can train you to operate our industrial sewing equipment and produce PPE!
Hours of Work:
- 1st shift: Monday through Friday: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm OR 4:30 am – 1:00 pm
- 2nd shift: Monday through Thursday: 2:30 pm - 11:30 pm and Friday: 1:00pm - 7:30pm – start your weekend earlier!
- 3rd shift: Sunday through Thursday: 11:00pm – 7:30am
- All shifts include two 10-minute breaks and a 30-minute meal break
Location:
- 780 South Progress Drive, Medina, OH
- Off of North State Road (turns into Marks Road), down the horseshoe of the street from Ohio E-check, and a few blocks north of the Medina County Fairgrounds
Additional Qualifications Needed:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Ability to stand for long periods of time on cushy and comfortable floor mats during the shift
- Basic math skills
- Ability to work positively in teams as well as possess self-accountability and have solutions focused mindset
- Open and effective communicator with all co-workers and leadership
- Possess a high attention to detail and accuracy
- Self-motivated with desire to work hard to meet goals
- Ability to work carefully and follow safety standards
- Possess a strong sense of urgency, follow-through and diligence, including meeting deadlines
- Demonstrate adaptability to learn new skills and follow company procedures
- Dependability with good attendance
