Position Summary:
We are looking for a friendly, professional, and organized Host to join our front-of-house team. This role is key to setting the tone for every guest’s experience by providing a warm welcome, managing waitlists and reservations, and ensuring smooth flow at the front door. You give the first impression of Fire Forno that will help provide a pleasant and smooth dining experience for our guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Greet every guest with a genuine smile and friendly attitude.
· Manage the seating chart, waitlist, and reservations to maximize table turnover without compromising guest experience.
· Utilize the TOAST POS system to assist with guest inquiries.
· Communicate wait times clearly and accurately to guests.
· Guide guests to tables and provide menus.
· Cater to guests who require special attention (e.g., elders or children).
· Coordinate with servers and managers to ensure smooth table rotation.
· Answer phone calls and respond to guest inquiries in a professional and positive manner.
· Keep the host stand and entryway clean and organized.
· Assist with to-go orders or other front-of-house tasks as requested.
· Assist back-of-house as requested.
Qualifications:
· Previous hosting or customer service experience preferred, but not required.
· Must obtain food handler’s certification.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to multitask, stay focused, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
· Comfortable with basic technology (POS preferably TOAST/reservation system).
· Strong sense of hospitality and a professional demeanor.
· Reliable, punctual, and able to take direction well.
· Must be able to work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
