Fire Extinguisher and Kitchen Suppression Service Technician
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and ensuring compliance of fire extinguishers and kitchen suppression systems according to industry standards and regulations. This role is crucial in maintaining fire safety and protecting lives and property by ensuring all fire extinguishers and systems are in proper working condition.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and testing of fire extinguishers to ensure they meet compliance standards.
- Verify that fire extinguishers are properly placed, fully charged, and in good working condition.
- Tag and document inspection results accurately, noting any deficiencies or required maintenance.
- Advise customers on necessary replacements or repairs to maintain compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and submit reports as required.
- Follow all local, state, and national fire codes to ensure proper fire extinguisher maintenance.
- Provide excellent customer service and educate clients on fire extinguisher safety and proper usage.
Requirements
- Previous experience in fire extinguisher and kitchen suppression inspections or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with NFPA 10 and/or 17a standards and local fire codes.
- Ability to work independently and manage inspection schedules efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential fire safety hazards.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to inspection sites.
- Certification in fire extinguisher and/or pre-engineered system inspections is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
